Fidalgo Island wildlife preserve appeals ruling denying it permit to house certain animals


An Anacortes-area animal preserve has appealed a ruling that denied it a permit to own certain “potentially dangerous animals.” 

In its appeal to the Skagit County Board of Commissioners, Because We Matter — formerly Predators of the Heart — argues the county hearing examiner inaccurately determined the organization does not meet the legal requirements of a wildlife sanctuary.
