POULTNEY — Theater in the Woods is hosting a weekend of fine food and entertainment from Nov. 10 to 12 at Stone Valley Arts in Poultney. The event is a fundraiser for the theater company’s children’s acting summer camp.
Eight plays, written mostly by area writers and read by community actors, form the centerpiece of the first two nights. Sunday will feature a matinee reading of three children’s plays.
Theater in the Woods recently mounted a brilliant production of “Dancing at Lughnasa,” directed by Meg Bouchard.
The company’s four directors — Bouchard, Melissa Chesnut-Tangerman, Rainbow Squier, and Wheaton Squier — founded Theater in the Woods Camp in 2016. The camps serve 70 kids from Rutland and Bennington counties with an individualized approach to creating and strengthening community through theater.

Friday, Nov. 10 and Sat., Nov. 11; dinner each night from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.; plays begin at 7 p.m.; $25 for one evening, $40 for both. After the plays, there will be a discussion with writers and actors.
