Fire Hazard Forces Recall of 2 Million Cosori Air Fryer Models

More than two million air fryers manufactured by Cosori are being voluntarily recalled due to potential fire hazards.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported that the devices, which were widely marketed in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, posed a concern owing to reports of wires overheating and fires. The agency demanded an immediate halt to the use of Cosori air fryers.

“Consumers should immediately cease using the recalled air fryers and register at recall.cosori.com to get a free replacement air fryer or another Cosori product,” the agency noted in its recall notification.

More than 200 cases of fire, melting, smoke and burning have been documented, resulting in 23 minor property damage and ten minor injuries. The overheating is attributed to improper wiring connections.

The affected fryers were sold between June 2018 and December 2022 and comprise several models of both 3.7- and 5.8-quart capacities. Customers can discover the model number of their product on the bottom label as well as in the user manual and compare it to the CPSC list.
