First Funerals Held for Michigan State University Shooting Victims

This past weekend, funerals began for the 13 February shooting victims at Michigan State University. Saturday afternoon, family and friends celebrated 20-year-old Brian Fraser in Grosse Point Farms, a suburb of Detroit. According to the Associated Press, Father Jim Bilot stated during Fraser’s funeral, “He is one of those charismatic, smiling, amusing, and good-natured young guys who is difficult to dislike.” A few miles away, mourners also gathered to remember and honor Alexandria Verner, 20 years old. The funeral for the third victim, Arielle Anderson, is slated for next week. Five additional students who were shot by Anthony McRae, 43, remain hospitalized. Four of these pupils are in critical condition, while the fifth is stable.
