First Gamescape opens in El Paso with 7 theaters, 18 bowling lanes, arcade

El Paso families are excited to explore the country’s first Gamescape, a new entertainment hub at 13361 Gateway West Blvd.

Gamescape by Cinemark opened its doors Thursday, Feb. 20. It is a spacious 67,000-square-foot family entertainment center with seven immersive movie auditoriums, 18 lanes of bowling, an arcade with the latest video games, laser tag, multiple climbing walls, a full-service restaurant and bar, and an overhead ropes course.

El Pasoan Pearl Garcia, who lives in the far East, said she was looking for something to do with her son and his friend Friday, Feb. 21, and decided to go to Gamescape. The two boys chose bowling as their introductory activity at the entertainment center.

“It’s fun. I’d like to come back when the ropes course and climbing walls are open,” said Jayden Vallejo. Garcia’s son Magdiel Lopez said they enjoy munching on French fries while trying out the different bowling games.

Aside from standard bowling, the bowling area offers different modes of games, such as hyper bowling, where the bumpers come up illuminated in various colors, and bowlers must try to hit them instead of knocking down pins.

Gamescape, El Paso’s new all-ages entertainment spot by Cinemark, features arcade games and Sky Trail ropes course, as seen on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025.

“This is really good for El Paso because sometimes the kids are so bored. The prices are reasonable. It was $25 to get a lane and $5 for each pair of shoes. Garcia said.

Julia McCartha, media relations for Cinemark, said the El Paso location is a test and learn phase for the company. It employs 200 people.

“We are really excited that El Paso gets to be the one. El Paso is a market we have been operating in for a long time. We have four theaters in this market and it’s a vibrant community. And we saw an opportunity to create this brand new entertainment destination,” she said.

Gamescape, El Paso’s new all-ages entertainment spot by Cinemark, features its traditional movie theater concession stand, as seen on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025.

The restaurant bar also serves seasonal local flavors, such as loaded tamales and birria tacos, in addition to typical hamburgers and pizza.

The Gamescape is appealing to the eye with snazzy features—a bowling pin-inspired light fixture over the bowling counter, LED screens above the bowling lanes that can feature graphics, as well as sporting events and 2 XD large-format theaters.

Gamescape, El Paso’s new spot for arcade games, bowling and family fun is at 13361 Gateway Blvd W in East El Paso, Texas.

The theaters have six-story-tall movie screens and two rows of D-Box motion seats that synchronize to the action on the screen. The chairs have remote controls so people can control the intensity of the action. The reclinable chairs are also heated and have a moveable table for movie snacks or food from the restaurant.

“It makes a very unique experience for a wide range of movies including horror and children’s films,” McCartha said.
