Options for getting spooked this Halloween include a haunted repair shop that’s been taken over by scary ghosts and ghouls.

In fact, the SCC Auto Club challenges people to make their way through the Haunted Shop on Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.

“It will consist of students in costumes, darkness, jump scares, and auto shop noises,” said Wes Carpenter, SCC Automotive Technology professor.

Carpenter said the club has put on the scary attraction for about 10 years.

“We had 258 (visitors) come through last year,” he said.

The Haunted Shop is located in the Auto Tech Shop in Building 500 at Southeastern Community College, 1500 W. Agency Road.

Hours are 6-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (daytime scares), and 6-11 p.m. Monday, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and 6-11 p.m. Tuesday.

Admission for the nighttime spooks is $5, or $4 with a canned food item.

Admission for Monday’s daytime scares is $3.

Proceeds will fund educational opportunities for the SCC Auto Club, like field trips and a state skills competition.
