Former Bethlehem finance director gets probation for theft of $18K in electronics from work


 

Bethlehem’s former finance director was spared prison time after he agreed to pay back the city for $18,000 worth of electronics he took.

Mark Sivak pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of theft for taking 31 cell phones and other electronic devices, according to a representative from the Northampton County District Attorney’s office.

Sivak was sentenced by Northampton County Judge Anthony Beltrami to a year of probation. Two charges were dropped as part of the plea deal, according to the district attorney’s office.
