For nearly 35 years, Tom Griffith brought Granite Staters the news every evening. On Tuesday night, his career was celebrated.Griffith was among those inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences New England Chapter Silver Circle.The honor is for those who have made significant contributions to the television industry over at least 25 years.Griffith spent 35 years behind the anchor desk at WMUR and 45 years in broadcast journalism.In his storied career, Tom has interviewed presidents, countless presidential candidates, covered major breaking news, severe weather events and served as one of the original hosts for WMUR’s nightly magazine program, New Hampshire Chronicle.”I was blessed with opportunity and I also had an opportunity to acquire a young family,” Griffith said. “I found out that I fell in love along the way. I fell in love with a state like no other in America, and I stayed. I loved it there. I still love it there.” Griffith retired in June 2022 and loves spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids.
