Fourth Annual Downtown Arts Program Features Original Artwork by Greensboro Artists

GREENSBORO, NC (February 13, 2025) – Creative Greensboro has chosen 10 local artists whose work will be featured on the 11 digital kiosks located throughout downtown Greensboro starting today. Each of the 10 selected artists receives a $500 honorarium and will have their artwork on display in the kiosks for 10 weeks. The artists were among a pool of 33 applicants and selected by a panel review team comprised of Cultural Affairs Commissioners, community members, and City staff.

“This year we are featuring 10 Greensboro artists who are all new to Downtown Arts,” said Jackie Boone, creative economy CEO and head of Creative Greensboro. “These talented individuals bring diverse artistic visions that reflect the cultural richness of their individual experiences and our city. We’re excited to showcase and uplift the work of local visual artists.”

Patricia Sánchez, known professionally as Tabata Chisse, is a photographer and makeup artist. A native of Mexico City, Sánchez has shown in 10 exhibitions across Mexico, and at Casa Azul’s exhibit “Chronicles de Cocina: The stories we tell through Latinx food” at the African American Atelier. Sánchez focuses mainly on conceptual photography, blending digital photography with digital manipulation, allowing her to draw within the images captured by the camera. She uses photography to express and process her feelings, and to show how she sees the world.

Sachi Dely is a painter and mixed media artist. She has a BFA in Fine Arts from Guilford College and is the founder of Chi Art Studio. She has exhibited in Brooklyn, NY; Raleigh and Durham, NC; and has been a featured artist in galleries locally, including GreenHill Center for NC Art, and in Greensboro Project Space’s Refugee Exhibition in 2022. She has also been a teaching artist for the Creative Aging Network and was a Greensboro Residency for Original Works (GROW) program artist in residence. Through her artwork, Dely aims to preserve and celebrate her cultural roots and invite dialogue and reflection on the broader human experience.

The artists will also be featured on the City’s website and in Creative Greensboro’s social media and newsletter.
