FARGO — Alaska-based Coastal Television, a company that operates 10 TV stations in seven states, has entered into an agreement to purchase KVRR-TV in Fargo.
According to
a report published on KVRR’s website,
the station’s owner, Red River Broadcast Co., has signed an asset purchase agreement with Coastal Television, based in Anchorage, Alaska.
The sale, which is to include Red River Broadcast’s station in Duluth, Minnesota, KQDS-TV, is subject to approval by the Federal Communications Commission. Coastal Television has been buying TV stations in mid-level markets.
Earlier this year, a similar deal that would have involved Forum Communications Co., which publishes The Forum, purchasing the Fox affiliates KVRR and KQDS from Red River Broadcasting, came undone.
The deal fell apart after FCC approval languished and
Red River Broadcasting exercised an option to terminate its agreement
with Forum Communications.
