Intermountain Health is sponsoring a free mental health event to help connect the public with available resources.

The Mental Health Services Awareness Night is free and will be held from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Ragan Theater at Utah Valley University, 800 W. University Parkway. It can also be livestreamed by registering at https://tinyurl.com/yr74wrfx. Click on “View Session” to register.

The event will feature speakers, breakout classes, information booths and more regarding mental health services. Keynote speaker and mayor of Hildale, Donia Jessop, will talk about her own personal challenges and how vital resources were in helping with her transition into becoming the first female and non-FLDS (Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) mayor.

Registered nurse Ashley Schlaich, pediatric behavioral health outpatient services director for the soon-to-open Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital campus in Lehi, also will discuss new mental health resources coming early next year.
