French Ambassador to India, Thierry Mathou, made a significant visit to the Himalayan Zoological Park in Bulbuley, Sikkim, on Wednesday, highlighting an international interest in wildlife conservation efforts.
Mathou was warmly received by Pradeep Kumar, Secretary cum PCCF of the Forest and Environment Department, along with other officials, who detailed various ongoing initiatives, including the innovative ‘My Child from the Wild’ programme.
This animal adoption initiative aims to engage the public in forest conservation, with the French Consul General’s office in Kolkata expressing support for Red Panda conservation as part of the programme during the Ambassador’s visit from November 10 to 13.
