Pasadena will raise the curtain on its biannual artistic extravaganza, ArtNight, this Friday evening. From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Pasadena’s premier arts and cultural institutions will open their doors and offer free admission and special programming for all to enjoy.
ArtNight Pasadena transforms the city into a dynamic open house showcasing the best in visual arts, music, dance, theater, and more. With dozens of participating venues and free transportation, attendees can immerse themselves in a diverse array of creative experiences.
Highlights of the spring 2024 lineup include:
- Alkebu-Lan Cultural Center celebrating 51 years of hip hop with live DJ sets, teen dance performances, and photography exhibits
- The Armory Center for the Arts debuting a new exhibition titled “Global Asias: Contemporary Asian and Asian American Art”
- Pasadena Museum of History kicking off its centennial year with quilt and historical curiosity displays
- The Gamble House offering aspiring artists a chance to paint and draw with the California Art Club
- USC Pacific Asia Museum presenting “Another Beautiful Country,” an exhibition of moving images by Chinese American artists
Music plays a central role in the festivities, with performances ranging from live singing, dance and instruments filling the intimate stage of Lineage Performing Arts Center’s black box theater to MUSE/IQUE at the Pasadena Senior Center will feature musical performers in line with their 2024 season theme, ‘Make Some Noise.’
Free shuttle service will transport art lovers between venues. Pasadena Transit buses will also run along key routes like Colorado Boulevard until 8 p.m.
Food trucks stationed at select locations will provide tasty sustenance to fuel the festive night. Participating trucks include Wise Barbecue, Rodney’s Ribs, and more.
