Though small in size, New Hope boasts a vibrant arts and culture scene – and was recently named the nation’s Best Small Arts & Culture Town.

Recently named the nation’s Best Small Arts & Culture Town by Travel + Leisure, New Hope is best explored on foot, with most of the attractions clustered along Main Street and Bridge Street.

Many shops are longtime staples of the community, such as Farley’s Bookshop, a town institution selling books since 1967, and the family-owned Pod Shop Flowers, in business since 1973.

Other specialty shops include Red Tulip Gallery, devoted to local artists, Nakashima Woodworkers, offering historic woodworking, and New Hope Arts Center, which focuses mainly on emerging artists.

For theater fans, Bucks County Playhouse is the perfect place to catch a show. Over the decades, it has helped launch the careers of many stars, including Alan Alda, Bea Arthur, Grace Kelly, Kevin Kline, and Liza Minnelli.

Meanwhile nature lovers should not miss Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve, a botanical museum and garden focusing on the native plants of Pennsylvania.

Another must-visit place is the Parry Mansion Museum, a historic landmark that was once home to Benjamin Parry, one of the town’s founders.
