FRUITLAND — Each year, Modern Auto Service turns up the love for U.S. military veterans and this year was no different. The shop hosted a complimentary breakfast and lunch for veterans on Thursday and numerous businesses pitched in to help or provide freebies, such as food (or preparing it), haircuts, food, gift cards, T-shirts and more.

Veterans and active duty military members who had signed up ahead of time were able to get a free oil service that day. The service shop blocked out its entire schedule that day to provide that service, teaming up with Vale High School students in the automotive technology program in order to offer more service and give the students shop experience.
