Opening Tips
• Danny Sprinkle was named the head men’s basketball coach at Utah State on April 7, 2023. Sprinkle is 81-43 (.681) in four years as a head coach at Montana State and has 23 years of collegiate coaching experience.
 
• Utah State is one of just three teams in the nation returning zero points to its 2023-24 roster, joining New Mexico State and Northwestern. The Aggies also have the second-fewest returning rebounds (0.004 percent) and are tied for the second-fewest returning assists (0.003 percent), both behind NMSU.
 
• Utah State is tied for fourth in the nation with 13 newcomers on its 2023-24 roster, including graduate senior guard Darius Brown II, a Montana State transfer, graduate wing Max Agbonkpolo, a Wyoming transfer, senior guard Ian Martinez, a Maryland transfer, junior wing Great Osobor, a Montana State transfer, junior guard Josh Uduje, a Coastal Carolina transfer, junior forward Jackson Grant, a Washington transfer, junior forward Kalifa Sakho, a South Plains College transfer, sophomore guard Javon Jackson, a Southern Nazarene transfer, sophomore forward Nigel Burris, an Idaho transfer, and four freshmen in guard Garrison Phelps, guard Jaxon Smith, wing Dallin Grant and forward Karson Templin.
 
• Utah State returns just three players from its 2022-23 roster, including two redshirts in sophomore center Isaac Johnson and freshman guard Mason Falslev. Sophomore guard Landon Brenchley is the only current USU player who has recorded any stats in an Aggie uniform prior to the 2023-24 campaign.
 
• Friday’s game will be the first Utah State exhibition game since the Aggies defeated College of Idaho 103-66 on Oct. 30, 2019.
 
• USU won the rebounding battle in all but 10 games last season.
 
• In total, Utah State outrebounded opponents 1,243-1,103 last season.
 
• Utah State logged more defensive rebounds than all but eight of its opponents last season. 
 
• The Aggies were 24-2 last season when shooting better from the field than their opponent.
