Post-punk icons Gang of Four have announced they are calling it quits again, but not before one last North American tour. They’re calling it The Long Goodbye, and it will have them playing their debut album, Entertainment, in full plus more for its 45th anniversary. All dates are listed below.
Say the band: “2025 will be the 45th anniversary of the release of Entertainment! in the US, and will be our final year as a band. It’s been wonderful, but all things must end. We want to go out with a bang and celebrate with our fans and friends. So, on what will be our last US tour, we’ll play two sets at each show: Entertainment! from start to finish in the first, and the best of the rest in the second. Come and join in, it’ll be a blast!”
The NYC show is at Sony Hall on April 24, and tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, October 4 at 10 AM local time.
The current lineup of Gang of Four includes original members Jon King and Hugo Burnham plus Slint guitarist David Pajo. Bass duties on this tour are still TBA. Original bassist Dave Allen hasn’t played with them since 2008, and tours after the 2020 death of guitarist Andy Gill have featured mid-’80s bassist Sara Lee and Gail Greenwood (Belly, L7).
Gang of Four are reissuing their third album, Songs of the Free, on vinyl and CD on October 25.
