BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A garage fire last Monday night resulted in the loss of a family’s classic car.
The fire quickly spread and engulfed the garage, completely destroying the classic car. Firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the emergency call, but the fire had already caused significant damage.
Ted and Bonnie Gilliam were devastated by the loss of their beloved car, which held sentimental value for them. The car was a gift from Bonnie for her husband, Ted when she retired from the Bucyrus City School District.
They had spent countless hours restoring and maintaining the 1966 Chevrolet Impala, and it had become a cherished possession.
The Bucyrus Fire Department is currently investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the spark that ignited the carpet. They are also assessing the extent of the damage caused by the fire.
Neighbors and friends have reached out to the Gilliams, offering their support and condolences. The community is rallying around the couple during this difficult time, providing them with emotional support and assistance.
The Gilliams are now left with the daunting task of rebuilding their garage and deciding whether to replace their beloved classic car. While the loss is devastating, they remain grateful that no one was injured in the fire.
