“Garfield: Out of the House” – A New Animated Adventure Revealing the Origins of Everyone’s Favorite Cat

The world-renowned, sarcastic orange cat, Garfield, returns triumphantly in the latest animated film, “Garfield: Out of the House” (The Garfield Movie), scheduled to hit theatres on February 16, 2024. This new chapter in Garfield’s story promises to delve into the untold origins of the cat and his enduring friendship with Jon Arbuckle, marking a significant departure from its 2004 live-action/CGI hybrid predecessor.

In the recently released trailer for “Garfield: Out of the House,” fans are treated to a glimpse into the early life of the beloved feline, along with the genesis of his relationship with his human, Jon Arbuckle. Unlike the 2004 film, this iteration is entirely animated, offering a fresh and immersive experience of Jim Davis’s iconic creation.

Director Mark Dindal, celebrated for his work on “Chicken Little” and “The Emperor’s New Groove,” brings his unique storytelling and animation style to this project. The screenplay, written by David Reynolds, known for “Finding Nemo,” promises a blend of humour and heart long associated with the Garfield franchise.

Adding to the excitement, the film features an impressive voice cast. Chris Pratt lends his voice to Garfield, bringing a new dimension to the character, while Samuel L. Jackson voices Vic, Garfield’s father, adding depth to the cat’s backstory. This marks a significant development in the Garfield universe, as little has been previously revealed about Garfield’s family.

Columbia Pictures has produced this film in collaboration with Alcon Entertainment, which holds the rights to the comic series and the character brand. Their involvement assures fans that the legacy and essence of Garfield are in capable hands.

“Garfield: Out of the House” is poised to be a significant addition to the Garfield legacy, promising to offer fans both old and new a deeper understanding of the beloved cat and his world. The combination of an experienced director, a talented voice cast, and a story that explores the origins of this iconic character is sure to make this film a memorable and enjoyable experience for audiences of all ages.
