Through the agreement, both organizations will seek new opportunities for the application of generative AI in the firm. They will also explore opportunities to collaborate within the framework of the new Digital Business division from which Garrigues develops digital trust, contracts and digital asset products and services for the corporate market.

The challenge of implementing and adopting this technology in different areas of work will enable Garrigues to advance its positioning as a market leader, expand its client base, develop competitive advantages and enhance its users’ experience.

“For Garrigues it is an honor to have a partner like Microsoft at a time like this, when generative AI is going to mean a before and after for the legal sector. The integration of Copilot with our Garrigues GA_IA tool and the Azure cloud, as well as the future opportunities that we will be exploring together, will be a step forward that will enable us to continue at the forefront of technology and improve our service to our clients,” says Fernando Vives, executive chairman of Garrigues.

“We are delighted to accompany Garrigues and help it meet the challenges and opportunities posed by AI in the current context. With this alliance, we want to explore new avenues of collaboration that will enable us to drive innovation in the legal sector, while offering cutting-edge digital solutions that benefit both Garrigues and its clients,” says Alberto Granados, president of Microsoft Spain.

Customized generative AI application program

Garrigues and Microsoft will work together and move forward in the implementation of a customized Copilot adoption program for Microsoft 365 that will open up the possibility of making the most of generative AI and provide it with an improvement in the productivity of its professionals, who will be able to focus on tasks of greater value for the firm and its clients, as well as make better decisions in their day-to-day activities. In Copilot for Microsoft 365, Garrigues will enjoy the same security and privacy for its data that it already has in Microsoft 365, including EU Data Boundary protection.

Garrigues and Microsoft will also collaborate on other projects, such as the integration of the Garrigues GA_IA AI platform, developed by Garrigues, with Microsoft Azure solutions and services in the field of generative AI. This will enable Garrigues to harness the powerful resources of Microsoft’s cloud platform to optimize tasks, develop capabilities, and train and create models within the Garrigues GA_IA platform, so that Garrigues’ entire business operations can benefit.
