Many of you were watching the UK-Auburn Men’s Basketball game on ABC 36 earlier Saturday, when ABC Sports lost the signal from Rupp Arena, and made the programming switch to the hockey game.
We received the following statement from UK’s Public Relations department explaining the outage:
“ABC’s broadcast production team experienced technical difficulties during the second half of the Kentucky vs. Auburn Men’s Basketball game on March 1. There was a fire affecting the ABC generator equipment powering their production truck outside the Rupp Arena parking garage that caused the broadcast feed to lose power.”
