The local Bag Hunger food drive that ended earlier this month, sponsored by Mackenthun’s Fine Foods, garnered nearly 14,000 pounds of food for the Waconia Gather and Grow food shelf.

“That is fantastic,” said food shelf executive director Angie Cruzen. “For the first time in a long time we have backstock in our storage area of our most needed items. We are helping 450 families each month so all these donations make a huge impact.”
