{KXLG – Watertown, SD} It was a beautiful sunny morning on Monday, as members of the Watertown community gathered downtown at Foundation Plaza for the official kickoff of the annual Artwalk, as a ribbon cutting was hosted by the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce and Friends of Artwalk.
The event celebrated the installation of new sculptures and highlighted exciting enhancements for experiencing public art in the city.

This year’s Artwalk will be enhanced by the introduction of “Otocast,” an innovative audio guide. This feature allows visitors to hear directly from the artists about their inspirations and the stories behind their pieces. Each sculpture has a QR code on its nameplate that links to the audio. Visit Watertown and Friends of Artwalk made Otocast possible.

Armstrong explained how that desire for peaceful solitude influenced her artistic vision.
Following the brief presentations, attendees were encouraged to embark on the Artwalk, explore the new installations, and utilize the new Otocast feature to deepen their connection with the 16 artwork sculptures.
