Goro Goro Kitchen – Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Guide

The Goro Goro Kitchen is the first Extra Activity you unlock in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, as it is available on Rich Island, the very first location you visit, in Chapter 1.

At the Goro Goro Kitchen, you can cook up a variety of recipes that you can later eat to provide Majima many different benefits such as healing him, charging up his Heat Gauge, and more. There are even some Aloha Links and potential Crewmates who want to eat Goro’s delicious food! Later, you can throw parties and feasts for your crew, boosting their morale and EXP by sharing a tasty meal.

This guide will cover the basics of how to cook, including how to find each type of ingredient, and list every recipe, its ingredients, cooking methods, and the benefits it provides.

Ingredient Types

As long as you have enough ingredients, you can cook multiple copies of the same dish at once. However, the more you make, the greater the difficulty level!

There are five different ingredient types you can use to cook food at the Goro Goro Kitchen. The higher quality ingredient you use, the higher quality food you will produce (up to three stars) They are:

  • Meat: Purchased from stores, given by animals in the Goro Kingdom, given by Goro the cub while walking around
  • Insects: Caught using the Chain Hook, given by Goro the cub while walking around
  • Fish: Picked up while swimming in the water, caught from certain bodies of water using the Chain Hook, bought from fishermen and merchant boats, given by animals in the Goro Kingdom
  • Vegetables/Fruit: Grown from seeds planted in planters and harvested, purchased from stores, pulled from trees using Chain Hook, given by animals in the Goro Kingdom
  • Dairy / Eggs: Purchased from stores, given by animals in the Goro Kingdom, rarely given by Goro the cub while walking around

Cooking Methods

There are three different cooking methods, each represented by a mini-game. Each dish requires at least two, with some requiring all three. Doing well at a mini-game increases the quality of the final dish. They are:

  • Start a Fire (flame symbol): Hold the button indicated on screen until the gauge is in the red zone, then release. Do this as many times as possible before time runs out. Getting the gauge in the red (Great) or orange (Good) will increase the dish quality a little. Hitting the top of the gauge will cause you to lose some time as Goro recovers.
  • Prepare Ingredients (knife symbol): Press the indicated buttons in the order they appear on screen. The more buttons you press in a row, the better the dish. Hitting the wrong button will cause you to lose some time as Goro recovers.
  • Skim the Scum (ladle symbol): Move the ladle over the patches of scum in the broth and press the indicated button to scoop it out. The more scum you scoop before time runs out, the better the final dish!
