KATHMANDU: The government has announced plans to introduce clear policy measures for carbon trading in the international market. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel highlighted this commitment while presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2025/26 in the joint session of the Federal Parliament.
Minister Paudel also highlighted the importance of protecting melting mountains and drying glaciers, promising necessary arrangements for their conservation.
He assured facilitation for project implementation on conservation land to support environmental protection efforts.
The government has further committed to managing wildlife that causes damage to agriculture, aiming to reduce human-wildlife conflict and promote coexistence through various programs in the upcoming fiscal year.
For this purpose, the Ministry of Forests and Environment has been allocated Rs 18 billion in the new budget.
