“Outside In” will open Oct. 31 at Art & Light Gallery in Greenville.
The exhibit, which features works by Greenville painter Mimi Wyche, will be on display virtually on the gallery’s website and in person at 16 Aiken St. in Greenville through Nov. 25.
For 20 years, Wyche was also an actor and singer in New York. While she pursued performance art she continued to study and exhibit her visual art.
Wyche creates her paintings using oil and cold wax mediums. In each piece, she works to connect the viewer to her deepest impulses and contradictions, according to a news release by the gallery.
“The most powerful appeal in both the performing and visual arts has always been my connection with others,” Wyche said. “Whether exploring a character or expressing an inner world through imagery, little else equals the gratification of this shared experience.”
Art & Light Gallery will host a First Friday reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 3 at the gallery to celebrate the new collection.
