Harbourtown Fine Arts Center announced it will host its fourth annual Inclusive Summer Theater Camp.
The camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 7-19, according to a news release.
This camp is made available thanks to the generosity of the Erie County Community Foundation, which provided a $5,000 grant, the release said.
“Without the support from the Erie County Community Foundation, it would be more difficult to host this camp and pay the royalties as well as all of the other expenses for putting on a camp of this nature,” said Jim Chapple, president of the Harbourtown Fine Arts Center. “We are very thankful for their generosity.”
The camp is open to all students ages 8-14 and will take place at Harbourtown Fine Arts Center, 736 Main St. in Vermilion.
Students will be involved in dance, drama, music and art activities while they are learning to present a play at the end of our two-week period, according to the release.
This year, the camp will focus on “Peter Pan Jr.”
The camp culminates in two performances at Trinity Gospel Church, 320 Aldrich in Vermilion.
The first show starts at 7 p.m. July 18 and the second will start at 2 p.m. July 19.
Every student in the camp will participate in the show.
To schedule a June 22 audition for a speaking part, contact Brittany Drost, camp director, at 440-315-1467.
“I love watching the kids grow and become more confident from year to year,” Drost said in the release. “They make lifelong friends and develop a passion for the performing arts.”
Applications are available by contacting Chapple at [email protected] or calling 440-225-1547.
All campers must have a completed application in before camp starts July 7.
