ATLANTA — Spring is just around the corner, and as temperatures begin to rise, so will the number of people traveling through the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). The airport expects to see nearly 8 million travelers during the spring travel season, which runs from Mar. 14 to Apr. 7. Here’s everything you need to know before heading to the world’s busiest airport.
Busiest days
Airport personnel has designated Thursday, Friday and Sunday as peak travel days, with Friday, Mar. 29 projected to be one of the busiest days during the season with over 335,000 passengers.
Officials said if you’re planning to travel that day, it’s advised to arrive at least two and a half hours before domestic flights and three hours before international departures.
Timing
Passengers should arrive at Hartsfield-Jackson at least two and a half hours ahead of their scheduled departure time for domestic flights and three hours for international flights.
