Margot Robbie has said that she has high hopes for a possible Barbie movie, even though fans may be holding their breath for the news. Word on the street is that the actress has no plans to play the lead part in a possible Barbie 2 movie.
RadarOnline.com recently said that the two-time Oscar winner is happy to let her co-star Ryan Gosling take the lead in the rumored new movie about his lovesick character, since it’s unlikely that another movie will be made about her character.
An source tells the outlet, “Everybody at the studio is talking about making a Ken movie, while the idea of building another movie around Margot as Barbie is pretty much off the table.”
Margot Robbie is said to have agreed that the story is the most important thing.
Greta Gerwig, who directed the comedy from a script she co-wrote with her husband Noah Baumbach, didn’t want the story to be about a single Barbie, so she didn’t make it about a single Barbie.
Robbie doesn’t plan to be in the sequel, but Warner Bros. directors may still pay her a lot of money to get her to come back.
“The ‘Barbie’ movie ended with Margot’s Barbie becoming a real woman,” says the insider. “A follow-up to that journey isn’t needed. There’s plenty of room for Ryan to do a full-blown Ken movie, which Margot will be involved with behind the scenes.”
