Heights Summerfest Promises Big Sounds and Bigger Funk

Get ready for a night of music, food, and fun(k) as the City of Albuquerque kicks off its signature summer concert series with Heights Summerfest on Saturday, June 14. The free event takes place from 5 to 10 p.m. at North Domingo Baca Park and promises high-energy performances including national headliner Cimafunk.

Cimafunk, a Grammy-nominated artist known for his fusion of Afro-Cuban rhythms with funk, has garnered international acclaim for his unique sound and must-see performances. Cimafunk takes the stage at 8:30 p.m. The evening kicks off with The Ordinary Things at 5 p.m., Reviva at 6 p.m., and Nathaniel Krantz at 7 p.m.

Attendees can also explore The Shops, featuring over 50 local artisans offering handcrafted goods ranging from jewelry and home décor to clothing and art. Food enthusiasts will find various options in the Food Court, with local food trucks serving up everything from gourmet kebabs to sweet treats. For those 21 and over, The Cantina will offer a selection of local beers, wines, and spirits.

“Bringing big talent like Cimafunk to a local park is what Albuquerque Summerfest is all about — free live music in the heart of our neighborhoods,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “It’s a chance for the whole community to gather and enjoy summer in the City.”

Limited parking is available at North Domingo Baca Park and the adjacent Multi-Generational Center. Additional free parking with shuttle service is provided at La Cueva High School from 4 to 10:30 p.m.

Pets on leashes are welcome. This is a rain or shine event. Prohibited items include weapons, alcohol, glass containers, and drones. Smoking on City property is prohibited.
