Henry Cavill Is Undeniably Living His Best Life Despite ‘The Flash’ Box Office Failure

In his most recent Instagram post, Henry Cavill looked like he was having a good time, and some fans couldn’t help but see it as karma payback for being kicked out of the DC Extended Universe. Cavill posted a picture and a video from his home, where he was having good weather, good food, and good company. People made jokes about Cavill’s success, especially about how well The Flash did at the box office.

“In my happy place this Sunday, cooking away in the Wild Kitchen with my lady and my hounds,” Cavill wrote. “I just wanted to take a moment to say, officially, to the fans I met and stood in front of in Brazil and Poland recently, that you have touched my heart. Thank you so very much. I want you to know that you are greatly appreciated. Thank you.”

DC movie fans and, they thought, the team behind The Flash were freaking out, but Cavill had a calm weekend. The movie opened last weekend, and so far, it hasn’t done very well in terms of ticket sales. Fans have a lot of different ideas about why some DC Comics movies have failed, and many of them think that recasting Superman was a big mistake. They wish Cavill had kept the part, which we recently heard he almost did.

For those who don’t know, The Hollywood Reporter broke some big news about how The Flash was made last week. They found out that the movie’s ending had to be shot three times because the people in charge of the project kept changing. In the movie, the Flash is in a different world because he accidentally changed the past, which sent ripples through time. This is why Michael Keaton plays Batman in this movie. In the original ending, Barry (Ezra Miller) would have gone back in time to a timeline that seemed fixed, but when he saw the Keaton version of Batman, he would have learned that he hadn’t fixed everything after all. This would have left the show on a cliffhanger.

This is said to have changed a lot when Warner Bros. Discovery switched up the leaders at DC. With new people in charge, the ending was reshot to include Cavill as Superman. This seemed to show the audience that Cavill was still in the game, even though it had been years since he had been in a movie. Gal Gadot, who plays Wonder Woman, would have been there, probably for the same reason. This would have been a continuation of Cavill’s appearance at the end of Black Adam.

This ending was also thrown out when WBD hired director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran to run DC Studios and be in charge of all the future DC movies. Gunn and Safran have chosen to start over with everything that has happened in the DCEU, so it is said that they removed this ending so fans wouldn’t be confused. But many fans and critics have asked why this movie was even made if it won’t affect the series in the future.

The Flash is now in theaters, and its ending is very different from the ones above. In the movies to come, many of the biggest DC superheroes will be played by different people. The next movie from DC Studios will be Blue Beetle, which will come out on August 18, 2023.
