EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Over 100 dairy industry professionals gathered in East Syracuse, NY this week to hear from industry experts about the latest trends and research related to dairy herd health and nutrition.
“The Herd Health and Nutrition Conference is a great venue to network while being exposed to the latest research around dairy nutrition, management and sustainability,” said Jenny Mills, Northeast Agribusiness and Feed Alliance Board President.
Participants gained insights about improving on-farm feeding and health-monitoring efficiencies, in-utero heat stress, and forage management strategies. A panel featuring university faculty, government leadership, and dairy producers discussed dairy cattle nutrition and feed management practices that can help reduce dairy environmental footprints.
“We were excited to have our industry professionals join us in Syracuse once again for this conference. We greatly appreciate the continued partnership with NEAFA.” said Tom Overton, Cornell CALS PRO-DAIRY Director.
Attendees represented dairy nutritionists, business consultants, sales representatives, veterinarians, students, and university and extensions professionals. For nearly 20 years, this conference has been hosted by Cornell CALS PRO-DAIRY and the Northeast Agribusiness and Feed Alliance (NEAFA) .
“The Northeast Agribusiness and Feed Alliance is proud to collaborate with Cornell CALS PRO-DAIRY to provide a program of research backed solutions that can be implemented on dairy farms immediately,” Mills said. “In addition, the ability to network with all aspects of the agriculture supply chain in one place helps us all continue to learn and advocate for resources for agriculture.”
PRO-DAIRY and NEAFA thank the industry sponsors whose contributions helps make this event possible. The next Herd Health and Nutrition Conference will be hosted in April 2025.
