BROCKTON — Veterans Day — observed annually on Nov. 11. — is an opportunity to take an extra moment to show military members gratitude for their sacrifice and service.
The holiday honors the men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces, on the anniversary of the end of World War I, more than 100 years ago, on Nov. 11, 1918.
You can honor veterans closer to home by thanking a veteran for their service, supporting veteran businesses and charities, placing flowers and flags on graves and by watching or participating in parades.
Brockton will honor our veterans with a parade and ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 11.
East Bridgewater is hosting the Tri-Town Veterans Day Parade of the Bridgewaters. The theme is “200 Years of Proudly Serving our Nation.”
The East Bridgewater Kiwanis Club made a “Field of Flags” on the Town Common to honor our country’s veterans.
The 70th anniversary of the Abington, Rockland and Whitman Tri-Town Veterans Day Parade will be celebrated in Rockland this year.

ABINGTON
The Abington, Rockland and Whitman Tri-Town Veterans Day Parade will be held in Rockland beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11. The parade will stage on North Union Street by Larry’s Auto and Summit Street. The parade will step off at 10 a.m. marching on Union Street, ending at the old Rockland Plaza parking lot.
BRIDGEWATER
The Bridgewater, East Bridgewater and West Bridgewater Tri-Town Veterans Day Parade will be held in East Bridgewater this year on Saturday, Nov. 11. The parade steps off at 10 a.m. on Spring Street and Aaundrea’s Way (the access road to 47 Brand the old Shaw’s warehouse), and continues through the center of town ending on the Town Common, where ceremonial exercises will be held at 11 a.m.
BROCKTON
The Veterans Day Parade will form at War Memorial, 156 West Elm St., at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, and start at 10 a.m. The parade route will leave from West Elm Street, south on Newbury Street, east on Belmont Street, north on Main Street, east on Crescent Street, North onto VFW Legion Parkway ending at City Hall Amphitheater, 45 School St., where a ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be canceled and a ceremony will be held inside the auditorium of the War Memorial Building.
EAST BRIDGEWATER

EASTON
The Veterans Day Parade will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, beginning at 10 a.m. at the post office at Washington Plaza at the corner of Main Street and Rt. 138. The parade will march down Main Street past the World War I Memorial to Veterans Memorial Park for the Veterans Day ceremony. The parade marshal will be Cory Ahonen, USAF. Following the ceremony, refreshments will be provided by a food truck. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at the VFW Hall.
HALIFAX
The annual Veterans Day celebration will be held outside of the Town Hall, 499 Plymouth St., at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11. During this year’s celebration, 47 Hometown Hero banners will be unveiled. The banners will be on display at the Town Hall before they are hung up throughout town.
MIDDLEBORO
The Veterans Day Parade and ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11. The parade will start at 10 a.m. on Nickerson Avenue and end on Nickerson Avenue in the Town Hall parking lot. The ceremony will follow in the Town Hall auditorium.
RANDOLPH
A Veterans Council breakfast will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, with a speakers program at the Elks Lodge, 21 School St. Tickets are $10 for the breakfast and are available at Randolph Veterans Services office and at the door (seating is limited to 100). At 10:45 a.m., veterans and color guards will form and march to the Randolph War Memorial on Crawford Square. At 11 a.m., the Randolph Veterans Council will conduct a brief ceremony and a wreath laying at the Randolph War Memorial, Crawford Square.
ROCKLAND
