At the Lied

Pianist Behzod Abduraimov will return to the Lied Center for Performing Arts, where he thrilled the audience with his performance in 2021.

The 33-year-old Uzbekistan-born, Kansas City-based Abduraimov has been called “the most perfectly accomplished pianist of his generation” by the Independent, praised by The New York Times for his “prodigious technique and rhapsodic flair” and tagged as a “rare and enchanting musician” by the Arts Desk.

In 2021, Abduraimov delivered a perfectly nuanced, bravura performance at the Lied, confirming his international acclaim.

In the clubs

Rado with The Midland Band, 9 p.m. Saturday, Zoo Bar. Denver groove-rocker Rado blends psychedelic rock with dance grooves and stylistic melodies with improvisational jams. They’re hitting the Zoo at the end of a fall tour that brought the highly danceable jam sounds out of the mountains.

Mike Zito Band, 6 p.m. Wednesday, Zoo Bar. Mike Zito calls the Zoo Bar one of his favorite places to play and the Zoo audience has adopted the St. Louis-based guitarist/singer/songwriter as one of its favorites. Zito, the Blues Music Awards blues rock artist of the year in 2020, is back Wednesday for another Zoo show, which may or may not have a holiday theme.

Wednesday 13 performing “Murderdolls,” 6 p.m. Wednesday, Bourbon Theatre. Metal vocalist Wednesday 13 and his band are celebrating his work with “Murderdolls” while paying tribute to Murderdolls members Ben Graves and Joey Jordison, also of Slipknot, who passed in 2018 and 2021, respectively.

Murderdolls put out a pair of albums — “Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls” in 2002 and “Women and Children Last” in 2010 — with plans for more until Jordison’s passing. Songs from those records will make up the majority of Wednesday’s show.
