SAUGERTIES, N.Y. — Natalie Tucker, Samantha Graham and Sonia Tchuinte led a balanced scoring attack with 10 points apiece as the Saugerties High girls basketball team defeated New Paltz 61-30 in Mid-Hudson Athletic League action on Monday.
Helen Kerr added seven points for the Sawyers.
Bella Morales scored 10 points to go along with six steals for New Paltz (1-11). Cadence O’Dell recorded six points for the Huguenots.
Saugerties has a non-league game at Newburgh Free Academy on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m. New Paltz also plays at Newburgh Free Academy in a non-league contest on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at 6 p.m.
Rondout Valley 32, Spackenkill 29
At Accord, the host Ganders rallied from a 19-9 deficit to come away with the non-league triumph.
Rondout Valley held the Spartans to five points in each of the last two quarters, cutting the visitors’ lead to 24-23 after three periods. The Ganders outscored the Spartans 9-5 in the fourth quarter to earn the win.
Helena Molitoris led Rondout in scoring with 12 points. Next with five points each were Julia Deyo, Michelle Avello and Sydney Allen.
Marlena DeLaurentis had 10 points to lead Spackenkill.
The Ganders return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 31, with a non-league game at home against Fallsburg.
