High Schools: Episcopal shuts out SCHA, takes Inter-Ac tennis title


Kamora Helton, Avery Morris and Carter Yearley all won their singles matches in straight sets Friday, which jumpstarted Episcopal Academy to a 7-0 girls tennis win over Springside Chestnut Hill. The victory clinched the Inter-Ac League title for the Churchwomen.

Helton won a pair of 6-love games over Ella Brown, Morris won 6-0, 6-1 over Ariya Goswami and Yearley won 6-0, 6-2 over Lexi Levin.

In doubles, the Churchwomen duos of Izzy Rozes and Olivia Olson, Shelby Pasternack and Mel Kryukov, Sage Ingle and Velina Feuzue and Michelle Jiang and Natalie Jiang all won in straight sets.

Field Hockey

Saylor Milone registered a hat trick and Carina Demchyk and Reese Czajkowski had goals as the Academy of Notre Dame field hockey team ripped Episcopal Academy 5-1 Friday.

Paige McMeekin had the EA goal, Mia McCloskey made five saves in net for Notre Dame.

Chichester 6, Sun Valley 2 >> Natalia Willoughby’s four-goal performance helped the Eagles best the Vanguards Thursday.

Sydney Scarpato scored twice and Vanessa Amalfitano, Sierra Martorell, and Victoria Hanright excelled on defense for the Eagles.

In other nonleague action:

Agnes Irwin 3, Central Bucks South 0 >> Caroline Chisholm, Elle Brady and Kate Sharkey all scored one goal to lead the Owls to victory. Goalies Sara Davis and Sophia Botta combined for four saves.

Water Polo

Ben McDade tallied four goals, three assists and six steals in The Haverford School’s 18-7 win over Penn Charter.

Evan Boratto (three assists), Eddie Kohn and Alex DeLuca each had hat tricks for the Fords.
