Hillcrest Energy Technologies Ltd (CSE:HEAT, OTCQB:HLRTF) announced that it has initiated a technology evaluation project with a global Tier 1 automotive supplier to assess its Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) technology for next-generation electric vehicle inverters.
The first phase of the project will focus on evaluating the potential benefits of Hillcrest’s ZVS technology in the supplier’s inverter applications, the company said.
If successful and mutually agreed upon, subsequent phases would involve integration and validation within the supplier’s platform.
Hillcrest’s ZVS technology aims to eliminate switching losses and significantly enhance electromagnetic compatibility performance.
The Tier 1 supplier, ranked among the top 15 largest by revenue, specializes in key automotive components, including inverters, and serves major global manufacturers.
“This project marks a pivotal moment for Hillcrest to validate our ZVS technology in a real-world automotive application and accelerate our path to commercialization,” Hillcrest CEO Don Currie said.
“Our ultimate goal is to demonstrate the performance benefits and scalability of our technology, which, if achieved, may increase future opportunities for our technology with other suppliers in the automotive industry.”
