Historic night for Canyon Ridge basketball to sweep Twin Falls for the first time in school history


TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Tuesday night was a crosstown rivalry between the Twin Falls Bruins (9-8, 8-2) as they hosted the Canyon Ridge Riverhawks (14-5, 9-1).

This is the second meeting between these two as the Riverhawks took the first game on January 4th winning 61-55.

This was an instant classic.

Twin Falls had the upper hand early on and it showed with their 27-19 halftime lead.

They were keeping the momentum going into the fourth quarter, with a 41-33 lead.

In the fourth, however, the Riverhawks came alive.

Canyon Ridge found a new sense of urgency and would outscore the Bruins 15-7 in the fourth and come away with a 48-47 victory.

It was a historic night for Canyon Ridge, as they completed the regular season sweep against Twin Falls. They now take firm control atop the Great Basin Conference.

Riverhawks Cade McEntire finished with a game-high 20 points in the win.

Twin Falls’ Jared Mix led the team with 11.

Canyon Ridge is back in action Thursday as they travel to Wood River to take on the Wolverines.

Twin Falls will also play on Thursday when they host a non-conference game against Century.
