WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The case against Bryant University head basketball coach Jared Grasso in an alleged hit-and-run was dismissed.
North Smithfield police said Wednesday that Grasso’s insurance carrier “accepted all liability in this matter.”
The town filed a dismissal under criminal rule order in the case on Tuesday.
Grasso was facing a misdemeanor charge of failure to stop for accident resulting in damage to a vehicle.
He was accused of sideswiping a car on West Acres Interchange at Route 146 on the morning of Oct. 1.
The North Smithfield Police Department released body-worn camera footage which showed an officer speaking with Grasso at his house the next day.
Grasso denied hitting a car, and said visible side damage to his SUV happened while he was inside a local restaurant.
Bryant University placed Grasso on a leave of absence prior to the alleged incident, on Sept. 27.
ABC 6 News also reached out to Bryant University on the dismissal.
