Shop, see cute animals: Holiday Shop & Stroll West Place Animal Sanctuary
West Place Animal Sanctuary, 3198 Main Rd., Tiverton, will hold its final visitors’ weekend of 2023: the Holiday Shop & Stroll will take place from Friday, Nov. 24, through Sunday, Nov. 26. There will be 90-minute tours every half hour, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stroll the sanctuary grounds and visit the animal rescues. Explore the expanded gift shop for one-of-a-kind items. Tickets are $24 for adults, and $15 for children 12 and under. All proceeds benefit the farm animals and wildlife at West Place Animal Sanctuary. Registration is recommended. Time to boogie: Thanksgiving Eve Disco Bash at Tequila Lime Cantina
Before indulging in your Thanksgiving feast, you can dance the night away at Tequila Lime Cantina, 197 Bank St., Fall River. They’re holding a Thanksgiving Eve Disco Bash on Wednesday, Nov. 22, starting at 8 p.m. Boogie to your heart’s content in a disco wonderland. There will be best dressed and dance competition prizes. Tickets, $20, are available on Eventbrite.
Special brew: Troy City Brewing Thanksgiving Eve Bash
Enjoy drinks, food, and live music at the Thanksgiving Eve Bash at Troy City Brewing, 16 Anawan St., Fall River. They’ll have a special beer release, in addition to a special menu from Avo’s Feast. Real Weird will be performing live. The bash will take place from 7 to 10 p.m.

Community: Blessed Trinity Thanksgiving dinner
Blessed Trinity Parish, 1340 Plymouth Ave., Fall River, is serving a Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner, free to the first 125 people who come through their doors. The turkey dinner will have all the trimmings, and is for those in need, and folks who are spending the holiday alone. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and dinner will be served at noon. No reservations necessary.
Under the sea: Blue Whale Weekend at New Bedford Whaling Museum
Blue Whale Weekend, a series of special events, will be held at the New Bedford Whaling Museum, 18 Johnny Cake Hill, from Nov. 24 through Nov. 26. There will be fun for the entire family, with 3D films, scavenger hunts, and the chance to climb into a replica of a blue whale heart. There will also be a coloring station, and a Feed the Whale toss game. For admission and more information, visit www.whalingmuseum.org.

Get outside: Day after Thanksgiving at Audubon in Bristol
On Friday, Nov. 24, shake off that post-feast stupor and enjoy some time outside at the Audubon Nature Center and Aquarium, 1401 Hope St., Bristol. They have a day full of fun, bird-themed activities. There will be a craft table from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; a nature story at 10 a.m.; animal interviews at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.; and a Turkey Trot Nature Walk at 1 p.m. Admission is free and no registration is required.
Live music: Concert line-up at Narrows Center for the Arts
Fall River’s Narrows Center for the Arts, 16 Anawan St., has a diverse line-up for November. On Friday, Nov. 24, eight-piece ensemble Roomful of Blues will be performing, and on Saturday, Nov. 25, the Neal McCarthy Electric Band takes the stage. For more information, visit narrowscenter.org.
Coming soon: Explore the history of Newport at Tiverton Public Library
Local educator and writer Fred Zilian will present on some of the history of Newport at the Tiverton Public Library, 34 Roosevelt Ave., on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 6:30 p.m. This program is free and open to the public. The presentation will examine 275 years of local history, including a look at the Gilded Age of the 19th century, and some of the women who led Newport high society.
