Holly Willoughby is looking into prospective TV options in America following her unexpected departure from This Morning and Phillip Schofield’s controversial leave from the same show.
This scenario seemed unthinkable just 18 months ago, when the in-demand Ms. Willoughby, 42, became embroiled in a contract dispute between ITV and the BBC.
However, for the first time in her career, she is a ‘free agent’ and ready to pursue prospects in the United States while putting an end to domestic issues.
Despite the fact that the conversations are still in their early stages, she is truly ‘excited’ about the potential. This is a huge move, given that her three children are all in school and her husband, Dan Baldwin, runs a highly successful television production company.
A move to the United States would be a major decision for the entire family, which she is fully aware of.
Willoughby, who is now hosting Dancing On Ice, says there is nothing wrong with pursuing potential chances in the United States.
She’s intrigued to see if she can follow in the footsteps of fellow Brits James Corden and Cat Deeley in landing lucrative TV gigs across the pond.
According to a source, ‘Holly’s had an incredibly tough year, it’s really taken it out of her.’
‘She thought long and hard about returning for Dancing On Ice and it’s proved to be the correct decision, it’s got her back in the groove again. Jobs in America have always been at the back of her mind but due to circumstance, now they’ve become a genuine reality and she’s excited by that.’
‘Discussions are taking place and she’s in no rush to take on any roles, but if there is a presenting gig she feels passionate about Stateside, she has the freedom now to explore it.’
Ms Willoughby left This Morning after 14 years in October, after Schofield’s dismissal from the show.
Schofield departed the show after admitting to having an affair with a younger colleague and lying to his co-star when asked about the growing rumors.
