Holly Willoughby’s TV career is in limbo right now because her exclusive deals have been put on hold since she shockingly quit ITV’s This Morning.
Willoughby, 42, quit the show last week after 14 years as host. This came five months after Phillip Schofield, her co-host, agreed to leave ITV’s show after more than 20 years.
The Sun says that the BBC has backed out of their “golden handcuffs deal” to give Willoughby some “breathing space.”
“Holly isn’t going to be signed up on an exclusive deal for the BBC — or to be the face of any of their new shows — at this moment in time,” a source told the news show.
“Their golden handcuffs deals are few and far between and Holly was being lined up to become a major player for them,” they said. “She was great on Freeze The Fear with (Dutch extreme athlete) Wim Hof and got down to the final two to host BBC’s reboot of Survivor.”
“But after seeing what’s happened in the last five months, the BBC want to give her some time to calm down before making any offers,” the person said.
Furthermore, the insider said that ITV’s story has “still not been published” and that its “impact” must also be “taken into consideration.”
Willoughby quit last week after a claimed plan to kidnap and kill someone was made public.
