HOME Bargains is selling an energy-saving gadget for just £20 – and it’s the cheapest on the market.

The discounter is known for stocking all kinds of cheap buys, including toys, seasonal and garden items.

But the retailer also sells a range of energy-saving devices that can help you keep warm without breaking the bank.

It recently started selling a bargain electric blanket for £13 but shoppers can now also get their hands on a £20 convector heater.

Convector heaters draw in colder air which is passed over an internal heating unit and then escapes through grills on the device.

Home Bargains’ Pifco two kilowatt model comes with three heat settings – 750 watt, 1,250 watt and 2,000 watt.

It also has an overheat safety feature and weighs just two kilograms making it portable and easy to move around.

Home Bargains’ website says it costs from just 20p to run per hour too, making it a much cheaper option than turning the heating on.

That’s based on the average 24 kilowatt gas boiler costing £1.68 an hour to run, according to Checkatrade.

Bear in mind, if you order online you will most likely have to pay a delivery fee.

When we looked at ordering to South-East London the charge was £3.49.

You can buy the heater in-store though which will save you on delivery costs.

Of course, whenever buying something like this it’s worth seeing if any other retailers have it cheaper.

You can use websites like Price Spy and Price Runner to see how an item has sold at certain times over the year, and whether you can find it for less elsewhere.

You can use the Google Shopping tab to scan the internet for products too.

We used these tools to try and find a major retailer selling a 2kw convector heater for less than Home Bargains’ £20 Pifco one – but couldn’t find any.

Screwfix and Toolstation are both selling 2kw models for £22, while B&Q and Dunelm have some for £28.
