Even though Ethan Slater is going through a split with his estranged wife Lilly Jay, Ariana Grande is still getting close to him.

Entertainment Tonight said that a source said that Slater and Grande’s relationship is “still progressing” even though he filed for divorce last month.

Slater and Grande are both in the new movie Wicked, which is being shot in London right now. The Thank U, Next singer plays Glinda the Good Witch, and Slater, who is 31, plays Boq, a Munchkin who turns into the Tin Man.

The source said that Ethan is “trying to be as amicable as possible with Lilly as he navigates his next steps.”

The person also said that the Broadway star, who has a son with his ex-wife, “wants to be the best dad he can be, regardless of the current circumstances.”

“He is taking things day by day and trying to keep his private life private, out of respect for everyone involved.”

The singer of “Into You” is “trying to give Ethan some space while he figures everything out,” an ET source says.

Also, Grande wishes her ex-boyfriend Dalton Gomez “the best” because he “is slowly trying to move on.”

When word of the relationship got out, an insider said that the two weren’t shy around the rest of the Wicked cast and team. “Ariana and Ethan weren’t careful,” said a person in the know. “They’d hold hands on set in between takes. They were sloppy and not hiding it.”
