The first tip is about tires. The tire pressure light inside your car might be on.

According to AAA, for every 10 degrees the temperature drops you’re looking at one to two pounds of pressure dropping in your tires. If you don’t check the pressure, that could lead to a blowout.

Next, get under the hood.

Cold weather can drain a third of your car’s battery. You will need a fully powered battery to start a car, in the cold weather.

Also, make sure your battery is free of corrosion and debris around it.

Finally, check your belts and hoses. You’ll want to look for cracks or damage of any kind.
