PEDESTRIAN.TV has teamed up with The KIND Collective to help you glow this summer.
Summer is so close, everyone. As the weather warms, Aperol Spritzes are poured and festival lineups drop (Laneway, anyone??) it’s time to reassess our makeup routines. While we loved our mocha-coloured nails and muted red lips for the cooler months, there’s a new season in town.
We tapped makeup artist Eleanna Hingston on the shoulder to ask what the top five beauty trends for spring and summer are — and how to recreate them.

1. SPF makeup
According to Eleanna, makeup with SPF included is on the rise, “People want to protect [themselves] while achieving beautiful summer skin.”
Products like The KIND Collective’s new Dreamy Everyday Skin Tint can help to achieve a natural, glowy summer look. It includes nourishing ingredients like aloe vera, coconut and avocado oil, jojoba seed, and vitamin E to create that second skin finish.
The easy-to-apply tint can also help to protect your skin with SPF30+ included. It’s available in nine shades, and you can snag this no-makeup-makeup look online or in-store at Priceline and Big W.
Eleanna’s tip to complete the look is to apply cream contour, blush and highlighter underneath before applying the SPF tint. For my oily skin girlies, make sure to set it in place with a translucent powder.

People also tend to forget that lips can get sunburnt too (myself included) — this is where The KIND Collective’s Treat Me Lip Balm, with SPF 30+, comes in. It helps your lips stay moisturised throughout the day with coconut oil, shea butter, jojoba seed and vitamin E.
Treat Me Lip Balm is available in shades Nudey, Blushing and Rosey, and the slight pop of colour is so Y2K. You can nab them all online or in Big W and Priceline.

2. Sunset colours
You have Hailey Bieber to thank for making sunset colours popular again, just in time for summer.
“She really rocks those beautiful coral tones,” Eleanna explained.
To recreate the look, reach for a product with a warm tangerine, pinky or peachy colour. Then, apply it to your eyes, lips and cheeks.
A triple-working product like The KIND Collective’s High Achiever Complexion Trio is a handy tool to have in your beauty kit as you can swipe it across all three points. Available online or in Big W and Priceline.
Eleanna’s tip if you really want to shake things up? Blend the colours together to create an ombre effect.
3. Rose blush
Sabrina Carpenter has taken over our FYPs and Spotify playlists this year after her huge summer hit, Espresso. Now, we’re taking inspo from the American singer in the beauty department as well.
“Sabrina is really leading the way with that gorgeous, sort of blushy look,” Eleanna explained.
To achieve this look, choose muted, rose petal tones over super bright colours. Eleanna’s tip is to apply the cream blush on the apples of your cheeks and across the bridge of your nose, set with a powder blush.
4. Berry lips and cheeks
The wine look from the ’90s has been rebranded as a lighter berry colour, and we’re not mad about it.
According to Eleanna, “It creates that sort of soft, blurred edge with a berry twinge. It’s about achieving [an] effortless stained look.”
Eleanna notes that it’s the ultimate low-maintenance look as you simply dab the balm product in the centre of your cheeks and lips, followed by blending it out with your finger.
“That way, no matter what you’re eating or drinking, it won’t smudge as much,” Eleanna explained.
Products like The KIND Collective’s new Hydrating Lip and Cheek Tint with Hyaluronic Acid can help to create the berry lip look. It plumps your skin and lips with hyaluronic acid while keeping them hydrated with vitamin E, jojoba and Kakadu plum.
Hydrating Lip and Cheek Tint with Hyaluronic Acid is available in shades Nude Plum, Berry Glow and Classic Blush. Available online or in Big W and Priceline.

5. Pearlescent skin
You’ve heard of glass skin, but Eleanna says that “pearlescent skin” will be all the rage this summer season.
Described as a mixture of dewy and matte, your skin should reflect the light but not look oily. It’s a delicate balance but one that Eleanna notes you can achieve through shimmer-focused products.
“Tyla wore pearlescent skin really beautifully at the Met Gala,” Eleanna explained.
To create the subtle glowy look, Eleanna advised mixing highlighting tip drops or illuminating primer into your foundation. For my oily skin girlies, don’t worry, I asked the question for you. For our skin type, she advised us to only apply the products to the high points of our face.
Eleanna shared that the highlighter should be a similar tone to your skin, otherwise it can look “unnatural” and that’s not the vibe we’re going for with this look.
I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling inspired. Time to start practising the five makeup looks before summer rolls around.
