Huawei hosted Innovation Day 2023 in Paris, focusing on ‘SME Innovation: Unlocking Europe’s Economic Future.’

The event united innovators from Europe and beyond to explore collaborative strategies for the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). At the heart of the occasion, Huawei revealed the inauguration of its Paris Innovation Center, a pivotal platform for advancing collaboration between Huawei and its partners.

Vicky Zhang, Huawei’s Vice President of Corporate Affairs, emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts: “Only by working together can we build the healthy ecosystem to enable Europe’s economy to thrive.”

Alongside SME partners HD Rain and Ubudu, Huawei announced the centre’s opening, showcasing its commitment to fostering a supportive environment for partners of all sizes.

Kenneth Fredriksen, SVP of Huawei Europe, highlighted the transformative journey of Huawei: “Thirty years ago, Huawei was also a small company. Today, I am proud to announce that Huawei will be launching its Paris Innovation Center.”

With an annual investment exceeding €2 million, the centre will offer access to Huawei’s platform of over 80 industry scenarios—encouraging knowledge exchange, joint innovation, and professional resources for integration and verification.

The Paris Innovation Center marks an evolution from Huawei’s Paris OpenLab, which has benefitted over 200 partners since its establishment in 2018. The centre’s comprehensive support system underscores Huawei’s commitment to empowering SMEs and fostering a thriving ecosystem for innovation.

In a separate event, Huawei CONNECT 2023, the company underlined its dedication to supporting Europe’s green and digital transition.

Ken Hu, Huawei’s Rotating Chairman, commended Europe’s progress in digital transformation: “Europe is making incredible progress in digital transformation, and you are leading the global transition towards a greener future.

“Huawei has been working side-by-side with our European customers and partners for more than 20 years now. We’ve made great progress connecting people, empowering businesses, and building Europe’s digital ecosystem.”

Jim Lu, Huawei’s SVP and President for the European Region, proposed four pillars for supporting Europe’s green and digital transition: connectivity of everything, intelligent cloud, “bits manage watts,” and open cooperation.

As Huawei continues to strengthen its ties with Europe, these initiatives affirm the company’s commitment to advancing innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation on the continent.
