Huge Downtown venue The Kee drops regular hours for events-only schedule

Less than two years after opening, the $5-million Kee entertainment venue, bar and restaurant in Downtown’s Warehouse District has closed for regular hours.

The venue, at 225 Neilston St., is now open only for events, according to its website.

The Kee opened in late April 2023 in a 33,000-square-foot former warehouse on the northern edge of Downtown after what owners said was a $5.5 million renovation.

The cavernous space, capable of holding 1,700, offered multiple activities and uses under one roof: bar, restaurant, art gallery, coffee shop, arcade, pool hall, sports simulators, and performance and event space.

The venue was modeled in part on Radio Social in Rochester, N.Y., opened by partners Noah Morgenstern and Ophira Harazi in 2017. For The Kee, the pair added Adam Nestler.

The Kee and its partners did not respond to Dispatch requests for comment.

The Kee’s calendar lists seven upcoming events in April and May.
