Hy-Vee teams up with Caitlin Clark Foundation to fight childhood hunger

The round up will reportedly include all Hy-Vee, Dollar Fresh Market and Fast & Fresh locations.

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — In an effort to support childhood nutrition through increased funds for local food banks across the Midwest, Hy-Vee is partnering with the Caitlin Clark Foundation for a March roundup campaign.

According to a Hy-Vee release, the Caitlin Clark Foundation Round Up will take place March 1-31 at all Hy-Vee, Dollar Fresh Market and Fast & Fresh locations.

Customers will be able to round up totals to the next dollar when checking out, with raised funds going directly to the Caitlin Clark Foundation which will then work with local Feeding America food banks.

Nutrition is a key pillar of the Caitlin Clark Foundation, with it being essential for a child to excel in education and athletics. The mission of the foundation is “to uplift and improve the lives of youth and communities through education, nutrition and sports.”

“Nutrition is very important to children’s growth and wellbeing and has been instrumental to my success as an athlete,” Clark said in a statement. “By providing meals to families who are food insecure, we can help make sure each child has the energy they need to succeed.”

Hy-Vee’s release cites childhood hunger as a growing need across the country as more than 575,000 children across the Midwest are considered food insecure.
