TRUE Assistive Technology, a Bangalore-based company specialising in international-standard assistive tech products for disability inclusion, has joined forces with Hyundai Mobis.
The collaboration aims to introduce TRUE Assistive Technology’s accessible car seat solutions to enhance mobility for persons with disabilities and senior citizens facing movement challenges.
Naina Padaki, Founder, TRUE Assistive Technology, said, ‘This partnership with Hyundai Mobis is a groundbreaking initiative in our mission to make mobility accessible to all. By leveraging a global brand like Hyundai Mobis, we aim to provide accessibility solutions in the Indian market, enabling individuals to lead independent and fulfilling lives.’
Yong Goon Park, Managing Director at Hyundai Mobis, emphasised the significance of TRUE Assistive Technology’s car seat solutions in improving travel and life quality for those with mobility challenges.
He stated, ‘During this month of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, our collaboration underscores our commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of people with disabilities, ensuring their full and equal participation in all aspects of life.’
In India, approximately 2.68 crore people have disabilities, with about 20% facing movement difficulties that hinder their daily commute. Existing challenges in mobility, especially getting in and out of cars, lack tailored solutions, with most available options being local garage modifications or expensive imported solutions with limited dealer availability and complex after-sales experiences.
TRUE Assistive Technology addresses this gap with its signature product, TurnPlus, a patented, award-winning swivel seat mechanism for cars.
TurnPlus, designed and manufactured in India, has positively impacted over 500 lives. It facilitates easy installation, requiring no modification to the car’s structure or core functioning, ensuring compatibility with 80% of Indian cars in less than five hours.
The mechanism is removable, allowing the restoration of the original seat condition, thereby not affecting the vehicle’s resale value. The product comes with a 3-year warranty, requiring no maintenance.
The collaboration between Hyundai Mobis and TRUE Assistive Technology aligns with efforts to provide practical solutions for enhanced accessibility, fostering independence for individuals facing mobility challenges in India.
